The Story of the Crab

It so happened that once a crab was walking or hopping along happily on the shores of the ocean. It seemed very impressed by the footprint that it was leaving along on the beach sand. But the crab was also highly disappointed by the fact that once in a while a heavy wave would come from the ocean and wash away the footprints.

As this continued, the crab turned to the ocean and asked “I thought you were my best friend and that we walk along together. But here I see that you are deliberately wiping away my footprints “. Why are doing this and creating and causing me unnecessary ill feelings about your action “

The Ocean replied “Yes I am sending waves to wipe away your beautiful footprints because I do not want the fisherman to follow your footprints and chase you “

The moral of the story is that many a time, human beings get carried away by negativity and never realize the good intentions behind others actions. This should not be the way. Every person has to understand that others actions are done with a lot of good intention.

The mother Giraffe then kicks the baby to some feet away. Then it goes near to the baby Giraffe once more and then kicks it again. The baby Giraffe now stands up on its feet. Then the mother after some time again goes to its progeny and kicks it once more.

The baby then makes its first attempt to run. At this stage, the mother goes to the new-born and starts showering love and affection on it.

The surprising behaviour shows that the mother never wanted to cause any harm to the baby. The kicks were to make it aware of the lurking dangers in the jungle and the need to protect oneself again and again by rising up.

The moral is simple – In life never give up. Rise every time; this is a special inspirational success story for students to achieve their dreams in life.

The Teacher and Student Story

To a class of students aged around 6, the teacher asks ” Tell me if I give you 2 apples and then 2 apples how many apples will you have? “

The student replies – “I will have 5 apples “. The teacher asks this question again and gets the same reply. Then the teacher remembers the boy’s mother once told that her son likes strawberries very much. So the question is reframed to the student as “how many strawberries will you have if I give you 2 and then again 2 after some time? “

The student now gives a correct answer “I will have 4 strawberries “.

Relieved and happy the teacher finally comes to the conclusion that the student has understood maths due to the teacher’s way of teaching, so he poses the question of Apples again with the same numbers.

The reply from the students comes – “5 “again.

Highly annoyed the teacher demands to know why the student says 4 for strawberries and 5 for apples.

The student replies – “But I already have one Apple in my bag “

The message of the story is that there is always a gap between technical difference and practical difference and it behoves on each person to understand that difference. The positive thought is as necessary as not being judgemental.

Three Mischievous Boys

Three mischievous boys in a school untied three goats from a nearby farm and painted with the following numbers – 1, 2 and 4. They decided to let loose the goats in the school.

Soon the school started to have a smell of goat excreta and grass and other stuff. The school staff was vexed and decided to catch the goats.   The goat with the number painted 1 was caught and after some days the goat painted number 2 was caught and after few more days and little more hunting the goat painted number 4 was also found. All the dirty and nasty smell which the school was suffering from stopped but the authorities continued breaking their heads searching for the goat numbered 3 which they were sure was somewhere let loose.

In life, it is better to develop our existing strengths rather than search for qualities which we don’t have.
