Til chauth ki kahani: Shri Ganesh as the deity of Chaturthi Tithi every month, he is worshiped everywhere. Both Chaturthi of every month are considered good for Ganapati worship. At the same time, Chaturthi of Krishna Paksha of Magha month is called Maghi Chauth or Tilakuta Chauth. In order to get the blessings of Ganesha, anyone can do this fast, but most of the happy women do this fast for the happiness, prosperity, and longevity of the family. 

According to the Narada Purana, worshiping Lord Ganesha on this day gives rise to happiness, good fortune, and freedom from obstacles at home and family. Visiting the moon in this Chaturthi gives a saintly result of Ganesha’s philosophy.

Significance and Importance of Til Chauth Vrat:

Sakat Chauth is one of the 4 major Chaturthi dates that occur throughout the year. Suhagans worship God Ganesha in the morning and evening on Sakat Chauth and take his blessings after seeing and worshiping the moon at night. After this, the fast is opened.

It is believed that by fasting in this way, the life of the child is prolonged and there is never any crisis in married life. In marriage, happiness also remains with love. By observing this fast, all the problems of the husband also disappear from his life.

Til Chauth Vrat Vidhi:

On this day, Lord Ganpati is worshiped. On this day, Knowledge, Wisdom, Ganesha and Moon are worshiped. There is a Til Chauth Vrat Vidhi to worship Ganesh ji’s Bhalchandra form on Sakat Chauth. Bhalchandra means that the moon is graceful on the head.

In the morning, worship Ganesha in the form of Shodshopchar Vidhi. After this, pay attention to Bhalchandra Ganesh and offer flowers to him. Chanting Ganesha’s name throughout the day will be particularly fruitful. After sunset, take a bath and wear clean clothes. Now according to your tradition, worship Lord Ganesha methodically.

Fill water in a Kalash. Offer Incense and lamp. Offer laddus, sugarcane, sweet potato, guava, sesame and jaggery as naivedya. This naivedya is kept overnight by covering it with a basket or basket made of bamboo.

Different types of sesame and jaggery ladoos are made in different states. To make sesame seeds, roast the sesame seeds in jaggery syrup. It is mixed, then a mountain of tilkut is made, sometimes a goat of tilkut is also made. After worshiping Ganesha, any child of the house cuts the neck of the goat made up of Tilkut.

After worshiping Ganesha, offer the Arghya to the moon with the urn. Show incense and lamp. Pray to Chandra Dev for the happiness and peace of your family. After this, concentrate and listen to the Til Chauth Vrat Katha in Hindi and then, Distribute the Prasad among all the people present there.

सत्ययुग में महाराज हरिश्चंद्र एक प्रतापी राजा थे। उनके राज्य में कोई अपाहिज, दरिद्र या दुखी नहीं था। सभी लोग आधी-व्याधि से रहित व दीर्घ आयु थे। उन्हीं के राज्य में एक ऋषिशर्मा नामक तपस्वी ब्राह्मण रहते थे। एक पुत्र प्राप्ति के बाद वे स्वर्गवासी हो गए। पुत्र का भरण-पोषण उनकी पत्नी करने लगी। वह विधवा ब्राह्मणी भिक्षा के द्वारा पुत्र का पालन-पोषण करती थी। उसी नगर में एक कुम्हार रहता था। एक बार उसने बर्तन बनाकर आंवा लगाया पर आवां पका ही नहीं। बार-बार बर्तन कच्चे रह गए। अपना नुकसान होते देख उसने एक तांत्रिक से पूछा, तो उसने कहा कि किसी बलि देने से ही तुम्हारा काम बनेगा।

उसी दिन विधवा ब्राह्मणी ने माघ माह में पड़ने वाली संकट चतुर्थी का व्रत रखा था। वह पतिव्रता ब्राह्मणी गोबर से गणेश जी की प्रतिमा बनाकर सदैव पूजन किया करती थी। इसी बीच उसका पुत्र गणेश जी की मूर्ति अपने गले में बांधकर बाहर खेलने के लिए चला गया। तब वही कुम्हार उस ब्राह्मणी के पांच वर्षीय बालक को पकड़कर अपने आवां में छोड़कर मिटटी के बर्तनों को पकाने के लिए उसमें आग लगा दी। इधर उसकी माता अपने बच्चों को ढूंढने लगी। उसे न पाकर वह बड़ी व्याकुल हुई और विलाप करती हुई गणेश जी से प्रार्थना करने लगी। रात बीत जाने के बाद प्रातःकाल होने पर कुम्हार अपने पके हुए बर्तनों को देखने के लिए आया जब उसने आवां खोल के देखा तो उसमें जांघ भर पानी जमा हुआ पाया और इससे भी अधिक आश्चर्य उसे जब हुआ कि उसमें बैठे एक खेलते हुए बालक को देखा। इस घटना की जानकारी उसने राज दरबार में दी और राजा के सामने अपनी गलती भी स्वीकार की।

तब राजा ने अपने मंत्री को बाहर भेजा जानने के लिए कि वो पुत्र किसका है और कहां से आया था। जब विधवा ब्राह्मणी को इस बात का पता चला तो वे वहां तुरंत पहुंच गई। राजा ने वृद्धा से इस चमत्कार का रहस्य पूछा, तो उसने सकट चौथ व्रत के विषय में बताया। तब राजा ने सकट चौथ की महिमा को मानते हुए पूरे नगर में गणेश पूजा करने का आदेश दिया। उस दिन से प्रत्येक मास की गणेश चतुर्थी का व्रत करने लगे। इस व्रत के प्रभाव से ब्राह्मणी ने अपने पुत्र के जीवन को पुनः पाया था।
