Sant Kabir Das was born in 1398 in Lahartara Tal, Kashi. Some people believe that he was born in Kashi in the 14th-15th century. This statement of Sant Kabir Das also confirms that –
Pargat Bhaye Ramanand Chetaye in Kashi – (Sant Kabir Das) Sant Kabir Das father’s name was Nuru and mother’s name was Neema and his wife’s name was Loi. They had two children – Kamal and daughter – Kamali.
Kabirdas Ji wanted to make Vaishnav saint Acharya Ramanand ji his own guru. But he refused to make Sant Kabir Das his disciple. But Sant Kabir Das ji had decided in his mind that Swami Ramanand would make himself his Guru at all costs, for this Sant Kabir Das ji got an idea that Swami Ramanand ji goes for a bath in Ganga at four in the morning. One day, Sant Kabir Das fell down the stairs of the Panchganga Ghat. Ramanand ji was descending the stairs to perform the Ganges bath when his parasite fell on the body of Kabir Das. The word Ram-Ram originated from his mouth. Since then Ramanand ji accepted his guru.
