Holika Dahan has also a major mythological relevance and it is widely celebrated all over the country. Holika Dahan is the Hindu ritual where people gather in the front of the fire which is burnt through logs or maybe anything recyclable also. People burn Holika Dahan and pray to Goddess Holika that let their evils also burn in the fire and the let the goodness emerge within themselves.

Next day which is the Holi morning people celebrate the festival with colors. People come together at public places like parks, open streets, temples and likewise and they apply colors on each other faces and body. Friends and family members also visit each other’s place and apply colors over each other. Children apply colors on the feet of their elders and seek blessings for their well-being and prosperity.

One of the most popular sayings which go with Holi is that “Bura Na Mano Holi Hai” which means “Please don’t mind this is Holi”. You will come across people who are signing this song to almost everyone during Holi and even after that.

At many societies, you will see people sit at the ground and play music and dance to the tunes of Dholak and Damru. Dance around with your family members and loved ones is also a fun way of celebrating Holi.
