Sri Krishna is considered the 8th incarnation of Lord Vishnu and the God of Hinduism. He is also known by the names Kanhaiya, Shyam, Gopal, Keshav, Dwarkesh or Dwarkadhish, Vasudev, etc. Krishna Nishkam Karmayogi, an ideal philosopher, situated knowledge and a great man with divine wealth. He was born in Dwapar Yuga. He has been ranked as the best male Yugapurush or Yugavatar of this era. The character of Krishna is written in detail in the Srimad Bhagavat and Mahabharata, composed by Maharishi Ved Vyasa, a contemporary of Krishna. The Bhagavad Gita is a dialogue between Krishna and Arjuna which is still popular all over the world. Jagatguru is also awarded to Krishna for this work. Krishna was the 8th child of Vasudev and Devaki, he was born in imprisonment in Mathura and was raised in Gokul. Yashoda and Nand were his foster parents. His childhood was spent in Gokul. In his childhood, he did great things which were not possible for any ordinary human being. Killed Mama Kansa in Mathura. Established the city of Dwarka in Saurashtra and established his kingdom there, helped the Pandavas and protected them in various objections. In the war of Mahabharata, he played the role of Arjuna’s charioteer and gave knowledge of Bhagavad Gita which is considered the best creation of his life. He finished his lila after a lifetime of 124 years. The period of Parikshit’s kingdom comes soon after his incarnation ends. Kali Yuga is considered to have started from the time of King Parikshit, son of Abhimanyu and Uttara and grandson of Arjuna.

According to the description of Srimad Bhagavata Purana, when Krishna was still in his childhood, he was cremated by Acharya Gargacharya at Nandababa’s house. While giving the name, Gargacharya told that, ‘This son incarnates in every age. Sometimes its color is white, sometimes red, sometimes yellow. In each of the earlier eras, it has three colors while wearing a body. This time it is Krishnavarna, so its name will be Krishna. Being the son of Chandravanshi Kshatriya Vasudeva, he was also named Vasudeva in other names. Apart from the name “Krishna”, Lord Krishna has been known by many other names, which reflect his many characteristics. The most widespread names are Mohan, Govind, Madhav, and Gopal.

Krishna represents many genres in Indian culture. He is usually depicted with Vishnu-like Krishna, black or blue skin. However, ancient and medieval inscriptions, both in India and Southeast Asia, and in stone sculptures have depicted them in the natural color from which it was made. In some granthas, his skin is poetically described as the color of Jambul (berries, purple fruit). A detailed account of Krishna as a personality is first written in the epic Mahabharata, which depicts Krishna as an avatar of Vishnu. Many of the main stories of the epic are Krishna central, giving knowledge of Arjuna on the battlefield in the eighteenth chapter of the sixth festival (Bhishma Parva) of the epic that produced the Sri Bhagavad Gita. The later appendix to the Mahabharata contains a detailed version of Krishna’s childhood and youth in Harivansh.

There are several versions of Krishna’s life story, three of which have been the most studied: Harivansh, Bhagavata Purana and Vishnu Purana. These all reflect the original story but differ greatly in their characteristics, details and genres. The most original work, Harivansh, is told in a realistic style that describes Krishna’s life as a poor cowboy, but infused with poetic and supernatural imagination. It does not end with the incarnation of Krishna ending. According to some accounts, the fifth book of Vishnu Purana breaks away from the realism of Harivansh and covers Krishna in mystical words and stanzas. There are several versions of the Vishnu Purana manuscripts.
